"Hey everyone, I’m Dylan Azzarella with Parks & Rex. If you love seeing the contrast of water surrounded by walls of rock scattered with green pines, then check out Intermittent Spring in Afton, Wyoming!”
How far: 2 hours and 20-minute drive from Rexburg
What to do: Take a stroll through a well-trodden path starting at the parking lot to the creek head, it takes about 20 minutes going at a walking pace.
How much time will I spend there: Plan on spending an hour or so including walking time to explore nature and the views around the spring. If you have more time, plan on exploring more natural sites around the area, or just go to behold Intermittent Spring, it is worth it!
Things to know: Also called “Periodic Spring”! It has received its names because of the natural starting and stopping of its water flow. On average the creek flows for 18 minutes, then stops for a few minutes, and then starts again! It is a neat phenomenon to witness in person.
