Gold Bug Hot Springs

How far: 2 hours and 15-minute drive from Rexburg, ID

What to do: Go on an exciting hike with your friends and at the end of your climb you will make it to the natural hot springs! There are multiple different hot springs pools up there, some ranging in temperature.

How much time will I spend there: 7 hours including hiking. It is a bit of a steep 4-mile round trip hike.

What to bring: Dress warmly! Layer up with a thick coat, hiking boots, while wearing your swimsuit underneath if you are planning to swim. Bring lots of water, snacks and a towel to dry off.

Best time to go: The earlier in the morning you leave to travel, the better. This place is so popular that it is best to start your trip by leaving around 5am in the morning to have enough time to drive, hike, soak, descent, and drive back.

Things to know: If you go later in the day, there will be tons of people and you will most likely have to share the hot springs and be in a tight space. Bring a warm change of clothes which you can change at the end of the hike in the bathrooms (or find a space that is secluded enough to change).
