How far: 6.5 miles, about an 18-minute drive.
What to do: The most popular events that occur here is campfires and river floats. You can float down the river from one side of the site and it will curve you around to the opposite side of the site. This float is up to 2 hours long. There are also many camping spots with campfires where you can enjoy marshmallows with friends.
How much time will I spend there: 2-3 hours if you are tubing, a few hours if you plan on spending an evening there, or even a weekend camping here is possible.
What to bring: A tube or even a blow-up mattress! (if you are floating down the river). If you choose to stay dry, then bring some wood, a lighter, food and tunes!
Best time to go: The best time to do these activities is during the spring and summer semesters while it is still warm.
Things to know: There are lots of mosquitos here so make sure to bring bug spray. This is also a popular spot even for locals with campers, so make sure that you reserve an area ahead of time.
