How far: 35 miles, a little over a 2-hour drive
What to do: This is a fun activity to do with an FHE group or with friends. Climb down into the cave and walk to the end. It is pretty cool looking inside and kind of a nice change from your usual “hike.”
How much time will I spend there: Plan on around an hour there to walk to the end of the cave and back out.
What to bring: It can get pretty chilly so bring a jacket! Also, bring a flashlight-- It is very dark! And good shoes are nice because there are some big rocks to climb over and it can be slippery. But bring some fun friends!
Best time to go: Avoid going when there is too much snow because the drive to the opening of the cave can be a little rough.
Things to know: On the drive to the cave, you will branch off of the highway onto a long dirt road. Having a car that is more off-road friendly is super helpful! It can be done in a small car but is a much better experience in a bigger car! The road is very bumpy.
